Mapas Auto-Organizáveis e Algoritmos Genéticos aplicados no agrupamento e ranqueamento de Criminosos da SDS-PE

Abstract

With the rising of crimes in the state of Pernambuco, the state’s Secretary of Social Defense uses a strategy of ranking to catalog the most wanted individuals in a manual and purely human process. Applying Self-Organizing Maps and Genetic Algorithms, a new ranking method was developed, based not only on the individual’s crime numbers, but also on other relevant features, and offering the intelligence team clusters of similar individuals. Our objective with this research is to aid on the strategic decisions of the police, and offer technological tools to facilitate their work.
