Abstract

It is the responsibility of the public administration to provide the necessary resources in order to effectively present the accessible quality of the city. In view of the above, the present work aimed to verify the accessibility offered in a public enterprise for leisure and called Environmental Park of the city of Codó, in order to evaluate the consonance of this public good with regard to the indigence for the transit of people. with disabilities or reduced mobility who use such a facility. It is noteworthy that the present work adopted the dialectical method as a scientific approach methodology, as well as the observational and statistical methods of procedures, as far as the data collection technique is concerned, this took place directly and indirectly,the first being through on-site investigation, and the second through the literary and documentary framework that deals with the subject in question. As for the discretionary methodology, it was decided to carry out a case study. It is noted that several irregularities were found in terms of accessibility at the site, namely, the absence of tactile flooring, floor in poor condition, ramp with inadequate inclination, among others. It is concluded that the inadequacies of the environment to the requirements of the norm and of the laws in force on the subject converged to the instrumentalization of the space as an unfavorable object to the service of the public with special needs or reduced mobility, judging by, that the inefficiency of the policies of Accessibility in space portrays inaccessibility as a result of insufficient use of matching resources.
