Abstract

This article addresses the challenges of renovations in hospital environments and the interference for healthcare teams, patients and visitors. Hospital renovations are necessary to maintain and modernize facilities, but they generate inconveniences, such as excessive noise and dirt, which affect the quality of care and safety. The study analyzed, through interviews, the perception of these impacts, identifying the physical agent noise and the chemical agent dust as the most cited. The methodology involved observations in 02 (two) hospitals in the private network of Recife, with the objective of verifying the interferences in order to suggest guidelines to reduce these inconveniences. Among the good practices highlighted are the use of barriers to isolate work areas, the use of specific equipment for demolishing walls and fixing installation infrastructures to the ceiling. The implementation of new methods for implementing these guidelines can reduce inconveniences and allow for less interference during the execution of the works necessary to improve hospital infrastructure.
