Resumo
Bridging academic learning and practical software development remains a persistent challenge in software engineering education. This study presents a curricular initiative integrating undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students into multidisciplinary teams to develop accessible software solutions through Triple Helix collaboration (industry-academia-government). Using the Action Research methodology, the initiative produced five functional prototypes across the health and education domains. Beyond enhancing technical and collaborative competencies, it assessed students’ comprehension and application of Action Research principles and accessibility standards. Findings demonstrate heightened awareness of inclusive design practices alongside implementation challenges, suggesting that early-stage accessibility assessments coupled with targeted mentoring significantly improve learning outcomes and software quality.
