Abstract

Worker ergonomics directly influence productivity due to chronic health risks caused by improper postures and working conditions. Therefore, it is essential to implement work environments with individualized conditions tailored to each worker's anthropometric characteristics. This study aimed to identify the ergonomic risks faced by container crane operators at a port in the state of Pernambuco. Data were collected using the Bardin Content Analysis technique, revealing that the high absenteeism rate among operators is linked to strict productivity control and excessive repetitive movements in the upper limbs. The findings suggest that ergonomically deficient workplaces lead to physical and emotional stress, reduced productivity, and compromised work quality. It is concluded that preventive measures, such as workplace exercise programs, should be prioritized, with organizations assuming responsibility for promoting a healthy work environment through policies focused on workers' health and well-being.
